The centrepiece of the FEASTival will be a Sizzlefest Sausage Championship, held during the event on Friday 30th August.

Under the direction of butcher Murray Salter, competitors will be tasked with creating a sausage that captures the spirit of the Kimberley through their unique, regionally inspired flavour combinations.

New in 2024 is the option of creating a uniquely Kimberley Vegetarian or Vegan sausage under the guidance of local legend Temali Howard.

Prizes include a $2,000 Cash Prize, your winning flavour combination featured at Tenderspot for a month following the event and a Best Flavour prize valued at $500.

Registrations are now closed; we look forward to seeing you at FEASTival, where you can sample the team’s creations and vote for who will be the next Kimberley Sausage Master!

HOW IT WORKS:

Teams of up to 6 people can register to join the competition. Once your team is registered (make sure you have a team name!), you will receive a Guru’s Guide, including all the tips and tricks you’ll need to create your best Kimberley Sausage.

Each team will be required to have at least 2 people attend a 30 minute workshop between 4pm & 7pm on Tuesday 27th or Wednesday 28th August where you will create your sausage masterpiece. Workshops for Chickpea sausages will be held on Wednesday 28th and may take longer than 30min as cooking is involved.

On Friday, August 30th, bring your entire team to Kununurra Picture Gardens. There, you will BBQ your creation and provide samples to the audience, who will vote on the best sausage in town!

ENTRY FEE:

$250 per team, invoiced on successful entry. This fee covers:

  • Entry to FEASTival for up to 6 people

  • 10kg of base ‘Kimberley’ protein

  • Equipment required to make the sausages.

  • Onsite equipment provided includes a marquee and trestle tables.
